Installation
The Apollo two-piece aluminium batten system comprises of a base and cover plate connection to create a concealed fixing that is incredibly strong, rigid, and suitable for external applications. A base plate is first connected to your substrate and then the appropriate cover plate clicks over the base plate and creates your secure, concealed connection.
Maintenance
Caring for your Apollo Aluminum Batten product correctly should greatly enhance its longevity. Below are our recommendations for extending the life of your Aluminum system. A simple regular clean will minimise the degradation of your finish from exposure to elements such as dirt and grime, which can build-up over time and be detrimental to your finish. The frequency of a cleaning regiment is dependent on a number of factors(such as environment and exposure). Our recommendation is that the Aluminum Batten system be cleaned once every twelve (12) months and a record of this cleaning is kept.
Optimise performance:
For best performance, we recommend a complete clean of the installed system once all construction works have been completed. This will ensure that any construction materials (such as dirt, plaster, paint, concrete dust etc.)have been removed in a timely manner.
A clean involves using a combination of warm water and a non-abrasive pH neutral detergent solution. All surfaces should be cleaned using a soft cloth, sponge, or a soft natural bristle brush. Ensure material is non-abrasive and no scrubbing is performed, as this may damage the finish on your Aluminum product.
Signs you need to clean:
Please look out for the following signs and if present, increase the frequency of your cleaning regiment:
⤷ Signs of weathering (loss of gloss)
⤷ Chalking
⤷ Slight changes to the colour of your finish
Strong solvents (thinners or solutions containing chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters or ketones) should not be used during cleaning. If unsure, we recommend testing your cleaning agent on a small, non-visible portion of the Aluminum product and leaving for 24hours to see if there has been any visible change to the finish on your Aluminum product.
Fire Compliance
The Apollo Two-Piece Aluminium Batten System achieves a Group 1 rating as per Section9 (n) of AS5637.1-2015, the determination of the group number is based on the AS/NZS3837-1998 test, and is deemed valid in the cone calorimeter for the assignment of National Construction Code (NCC) group number.
Warranty
For external applications, the Apollo Two-Piece Aluminium Batten system comes with a 10 year warranty. Please contact your local Apollo consultant for your project specific warranty.
