At GPT’s Level 17 Spec Suite at 8 Exhibition Street, the ceiling brings structure, materiality and acoustic performance together in one highly considered architectural feature. Designed by Hot Black and delivered with Plan Group and Total Trade Construction, the Apollo Timber Open Cell installation uses the depth and repetition of a large-format grid to define the communal space below. Finished in Emerald Victorian Ash Truescale, it introduces the character of timber overhead while integrated perforated lids and acoustic backing allow performance to sit quietly within the design.
