Sweeping curves, elegant lines and light hues were the order of the day for Bates Smart when they envisaged the fit-out for Ashurst at 80 Collins Street. With a sweeping, curved, multi-level staircase taking centre stage, our Ø25mm tubular batten ceiling complimented the overall design intent perfectly.
Fast becoming a trademark, our calling-card so to speak, MBS Architectural assisted Bates in integrating services into dedicated zones, as well as that delicious plasterboard margin detail we’re coming so accustomed to seeing… battens floating perfectly over the top of a plaster upstand.
Future proofing the fit-out was a major priority for the client. They wanted to be able to maintain the plethora of services above the ceiling without having to cut through the tubes. The solution was 70 discrete tubular access panels integrated within the main ceiling plane. You’ll be hard pushed to notice them!
