Canaccord (NSW)

Fit-Out

Canaccord’s Sydney workplace within the MLC Centre builds on a familiar foundation, yet refines it with a distinct sense of place. Following the success of their Melbourne office, the collaboration between Hot Black, MPA and Linea Projects returns with a shared understanding of brand, expectation and detail. The result is a space that feels immediately cohesive — not through repetition, but through evolution, where proven ideas are reinterpreted with precision.

At the centre of this expression is the Apollo+ Aluminium Batten system, applied across 200 square metres of ceiling to establish a clear and consistent architectural language. Using a 50mm tube profile set at 85mm centres, the system introduces a measured rhythm that guides movement through both client-facing areas and internal meeting spaces. The geometry is disciplined, yet never rigid — a framework that supports the overall spatial experience without overwhelming it.

Materiality plays a defining role in shaping the atmosphere. Finished in Champagne Kinetic, the battens bring a warmth that softens the commercial setting, offering a subtle contrast to more neutral surfaces. The finish carries a gentle luminosity, catching and diffusing light throughout the day, creating moments of movement without distraction. It is a detail that reveals itself gradually, reinforcing the sense of quality embedded within the design.

Canaccord (NSW)

Within the MLC Centre, Canaccord’s Sydney workplace presents a refined continuation of a well-established design language, where consistency is balanced with subtle variation to suit its new context. The space is shaped by a calm and controlled material palette, allowing light, tone and proportion to define the experience rather than overt gestures. Through careful integration of performance and detail, the environment supports both focus and interaction, creating a workplace that feels considered at every level. It is an interior that reflects the strength of ongoing collaboration, where shared understanding leads to outcomes that are both cohesive and quietly distinctive.

Performance sits quietly behind this visual clarity. Acoustic backing delivers an NRC of 0.50, ensuring the space remains composed even during periods of high activity. Conversations are contained, background noise is moderated, and the overall environment supports both focused work and client interaction. At the same time, the batten system contributes to a clean ceiling plane, concealing services while maintaining the integrity of the design.

Installation by Linea Projects reflects a high level of precision, with each element aligned to ensure continuity across transitions. The ceiling reads as a singular, uninterrupted field — a result of careful coordination between design and delivery.

Canaccord’s Sydney office ultimately demonstrates the value of continuity in collaboration. By building on an established design language while responding to a new context, the project achieves a balance between familiarity and distinction. It is a workplace that feels refined and resolved, where material, proportion and performance are brought together to create an environment that is both confident and composed.
