Eightcap

Fit-Out

Eightcap’s workplace within Melbourne’s Rialto Tower is a space shaped by contrast — where openness meets intensity, and clarity is balanced with depth. Positioned high above the city, the fit-out by Studio 103 and delivered by McCormack reflects a design approach that is both deliberate and refined, creating an environment that responds to the demands of a fast-paced, globally connected business.

From the outset, the ambition was to craft a space that felt tailored rather than generic — one that could support a range of working styles while maintaining a strong, cohesive identity. Central to this was the integration of the Apollo+ Aluminium Batten system across both walls and ceilings. More than a surface treatment, the battens establish a consistent architectural language, linking spaces together through rhythm, proportion and materiality.

At 50 x 50mm profiles set at 100mm centres, the battens introduce a measured density — enough to define the space without overwhelming it. Finished in Dulux Charisma Black Ace Flat, the system takes on a distinctly atmospheric quality.

The ultra-matte black absorbs light rather than reflecting it, creating moments of contrast that feel controlled and intentional. In key zones, this results in a more immersive environment, where the architecture shifts from background to experience.

Eightcap

High above Melbourne’s CBD, Eightcap’s workplace presents a carefully composed environment where atmosphere and functionality are brought into alignment. The interiors balance openness with moments of intensity, using material and tone to shape how spaces are experienced throughout the day. Through thoughtful integration and a disciplined approach to detail, the design creates a setting that supports both collaboration and focus, allowing the workplace to adapt seamlessly to different modes of use. It is an environment that reflects a clear architectural vision, where precision and restraint combine to deliver a space that feels both contemporary and enduring.

Behind this visual clarity sits a carefully integrated layer of performance. Acoustic backing ensures the space maintains a level of calm appropriate for focused work, meetings and collaboration.

At the same time, the batten system conceals the infrastructure that supports the workplace — AV systems, services and other technical elements are absorbed into the design, allowing the ceiling and wall planes to remain uninterrupted. It is a solution that balances complexity with restraint, ensuring functionality never disrupts the overall composition.

Spanning 180m², the installation reflects a high level of precision, with each element aligned to maintain consistency across transitions between surfaces. The result is a workplace that feels cohesive and considered, where detail is resolved without becoming overt.

Eightcap ultimately demonstrates how material, proportion and integration can work together to define a contemporary workspace. It is a project where the architecture supports both performance and identity — an environment that feels controlled, confident and quietly distinctive.
