Project Overview
Perched on a high floor of Melbourne’s iconic Rialto Tower, the new Eightcap workplace is a masterclass in contemporary commercial design, balancing bold aesthetics with seamless functionality. Designed by the ever-innovative team at Studio 103 and delivered by McCormack, the fit-out reflects Eightcap’s global reach and forward-thinking values, with every detail crafted to support adaptability, respect, and innovation.
From the outset, the design vision called for a refined and highly tailored interior, one that would speak to the Eightcap brand while creating a dynamic, high-performance environment for its team. To bring this to life, Studio 103 once again turned to MBS Architectural to deliver a ceiling and wall system that would meet the brief both technically and visually. Our Apollo+ Aluminium Batten System was selected for its modular versatility, clean geometry, and premium finish - forming the backbone of a design that is as practical as it is striking.
Spanning 180 square metres across walls and ceilings, the 50mm x 50mm battens were installed at 100mm centres and coated in Dulux Charisma Black Ace Flat, chosen for its rich depth and ultra-matte texture. This “blackest of blacks” helps absorb light, minimise reflection, and create a cocoon-like atmosphere in key zones of the workspace. Behind the scenes, acoustic backing ensures that performance matches the visual, delivering a quiet, focused environment ideal for collaboration, client meetings, or moments of concentration.
One of the most compelling aspects of this project is the way the battens work double duty, enhancing acoustic comfort while also concealing integrated AV systems and infrastructure. It’s a thoughtful, layered approach that speaks to the intelligence of the overall design.
This project is a celebration of precision, purpose, and partnership - and a testament to what can be achieved when form and function are given equal priority.
